Stewart & Kristina ...:Engaged:...

The reason behind the ring pop is simply adorable. It started in high school when Stewart gave Kristina a ring pop at her locker and asked her to be his girlfriend [awww] Now, several years later, Stu coaches for the high school basketball team and asked Kristina to walk with him to get his coaching book. As they walked through the halls of their old high school, Stu suddenly stopped by Kristina's old locker, got down on one knee, pulled a ring pop out of his pocket and asked her to marry him [he also had this beautiful, un-edible, fabulous ring along with it] So super adorable!!! I loved our time together driving through a sketchier part of Grand Rapids to find a 7-Eleven, but I am so glad we did because it made for adorable pictures. I am so excited for their wedding this July and to capture more cuteness from these two birdies.

Jimmy & Amy ...:Engaged:...

Geenen Family

Energy. Energy. Love. Kisses. More energy. This family is super adorable and lovable and on the go all.the.time. It was exciting just to be apart of their lives for a while as we walked to the woods, watched Sam swing, bike, run and as Emma just laid and modeled perfectly for us :) How precious to watch the interaction of parents with their children and listen to how they are raising two sweet little humans. Good job, guys!! :)

Such a lovable pair, don't you think?

I think Baby feet are the most precious thing in the world!!

Sam had to show me his "sthweet" drumset
I'm in love with this photo, don't know why. It's says "boy". The shirt, the face, the truck...love.

Scoundrel. The cutest scoundrel around.

I love her.

Love lives here.

Kaitlin ...:Senior:...

Beautiful, sweet, blonde beauty. Watch out world! So sure that we had poison ivy after laying in the grass for the green shots ... we didn't, thank goodness, but it would have been well worth it for this lovely, colorful shot. We looked both ways on the train tracks and took it over for a while...I love the classic look of train tracks and her white pants just added to the overall classic look. And did I mention, I wish, pray, dream, hope that I can have hair like that someday. You are beautiful, Kait! Thanks for letting me capture your lovely self.

Fabulously Lost

So today I got to go downtown Grand Rapids to try on wedding dresses for a photo shoot that Nick and I are going to be apart of for Hey Gorgeous Events coming up June 8 :) I put on a cute little black dress because it was a lovely, hazy 80 degree morning and set out for downtown. Rhiannon, who I was meeting greeted me with my favorite drink from Starbucks: White Chocolate Mocha, ICED! Mmmm, yes! We had a lovely time trying on wedding dresses at Renae Austin Wedding. I tried a few different dresses: Long, short, poofy, flowy, open backed, one shoulder, strapless until we found the perfect dress for the shoot (but you will have to wait to see which one we picked:) It is a gorgeous shop that every bride should check out for unique, amazing wedding gowns!!

Afterwards, I left the shop with my windows down, sipping my lovely coffee, music up high ... and I found out that I was quickly getting lost. I had a moment of panic, but then realized I had both my tomtom and iphone with me so I continued my little adventure for a while longer enjoying the up and down hills, budding trees above, the people outside, the little shops and houses I passed. I do not enjoy getting lost usually --- but today I loved it for some reason. Maybe because I knew I could find my way home eventually, but in the moment I was perfectly content with a mixture of freedom.

I didn't care that I had no idea where I was, I just knew that I loved the smell of fresh cut grass, warmth, coffee, Mumford and Sons and the knowledge that I had gotten myself fabulously lost.
I realized that I should do more of this: Get lost in a city, have more adventures, drink more coffee, listen to music louder, roll my windows down and wear more little black dresses in the middle of the day.
Because, WHY NOT?!

{ Spring Sweet }

This shoot was inspired by the new store downtown Holland, Michigan called 'Spring Sweet' owned and loved by our lovely Spring Sweet (how could you not use an awesome name like that?!) These are just a few of the dresses she will be selling as well as the accessories. Her store has lots of home goodies too, including pillows, soaps, lotions, candles, vintage stools as well as a flower market...basically just plain, S W E E T, goodness. Thanks for letting me capture the beauty, Spring! And a special thanks to our lovely surprise guest, Rhiannon Nicole from Hey Gorgeous Events. You can check her out Here

Oh yes, we had fuuuun!!
